Buddhism
Buddhism is a set of beliefs based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as "The Buddha". Buddhism is considered by most people to be a religion, just as people consider Christianity, Hinduism and Islam to be religions. Buddhists recognize The Buddha (The Awakened One) as being an enlightened teacher who shared his insights to help sentient beings end their suffering by understanding the true nature of phenomena, thereby escaping the cycle of suffering and rebirth and achieving Nirvana.
