Naturist Etiquette

Whether you're visiting a nude beach or a nudist resort, there are certain things you can do which are considered offensive or rude. Sometimes you'll find that these are rules, whist other times they're simply best practices. So take note of these items before you go and you're sure to have a better time.

Stay out of the dunes and environmentally sensitive areas.

Respect the boundaries. If you are in the nude, do not go past the boundary of the park, resort or beach that you are at without first covering up.

No photography without permission.

Bring your own towel and always sit on it while nude instead of uncovered chairs or lounges.

Do not indulge in any overtly sexual activity in public. Nudity does not equal sex.

If an erection should occur, it is best to lay on your stomach or cover it up with a towel until it goes away.

Gawking is impolite. If you want to go to the nudist beach for a thrill, do everyone a favor and buy a magazine instead.

Be Prepared. Sometimes, the nudist beach doesn't have any amenities. Bring water, food, towel, sunscreen and anything else you need.
